Gowanvale is our small kennel in the Lake District and I have been involved with dogs all my life. It was during the agricultural shows with my sister [who had the Winstervale affix, breeding GSD and shetland sheepdogs], that we bought our first pet labrador in 1975 called Kristy. It was because of her that we decided on this wonderful breed and began showing labradors in 1987 doing quite well at the open shows, then moving up to championship level.
First and foremost our dogs are our pets and constant companions and showing is our hobby. we have always had all three colours with our aim being for temperament and soundness. we use the B.V.A hip&elbow schemes

we only have Ollie who is 12 & Ria 8 [both sofa dogs ] and our 2 young dogs that we continue to show Barney & Harvey
I first started judging in 1999 and I am on the Breed Council B List and a members of
